eWorship Sharing

Guidelines:
eWorship Sharing is different from Worship Sharing in that this is a public domain and what is shared is obviously not confidential. There may be value if we take it in the same spirit and share from our heart and mind and don't put others down. In considering your contribution it may be helpful to consider the same guidelines that are generally considered for afterwords, meeting for worship and worship sharing.

How to share:
1 By clicking comment at the bottom of this section you will be able to write your contribution in the box on the right hand side. The easiest then is to click "other" in the options below the box and write your name in the space provided- no need to write website. Then click on publish and your contribution has been added to the blog. If you then open the blog you may not see your contribution - unless you reopen the web page.
2 You can also make a contribution by posting your contribution directly in the web page below the section headed RESPONSES by clicking the orange blog and signing in, User ID - cwmm, Password - Get this from Jeremy

Dear Jeremy,
After mention by Michael that you were discussing Meeting for Worship in Hearts and Minds, I was thinking about it after Centering Prayer early this morning. These were the thoughts that came to me and I quickly wrote them down. If you think they might be helpful to any other Meeting members please enter it on the Blog site. I do not know how to, and I do not want to learn!!! I also want you to decide whether it is appropriate. If you do decide to put it on, please do not edit it. These were the words given to me, so I would not like them to be changed. If you do not put it on, that is O.K by me.Thank you
LoveSadie.

MEETING FOR WORSHIP
The Quaker Meeting for Worship is a meeting of a group of people of very diverse beliefs. When we have discussions outside of Meeting, our differences seem almost irreconcilable. However, in Meeting for Worship we come together in the silence to wait upon the guidance of that Spirit we believe is ''that of God in us ''. To the Christians, it is the Holy Spirit of Christ. To others it is a Universal Spirit. In whatever way we understand the Spirit, it is upon that Spirit that we wait. It is not a meeting of the intellect or an expression of individual opinions. It is certainly not for debating. The same Spirit cannot give one ministry to one person, and a diametrically opposed ministry to another. That does not mean that everyone present has to believe in every message. For that, our beliefs are too divergent. Sometimes a ministry may be directed only at a particular individual. In that case the person involved finds it incredibly powerful that God is aware of their specific circumstances. ( There are many reported instances of this. ) At other times it may speak to some, or all of those present. Sometimes the first, or one of the ministries starts a theme; the morning of the seagulls, ducks, eagles, hadidas and other birds is well remembered. At other times it may reflect a variety of different experiences. Our waiting on the Spirit in silence, with patience, tolerance and openness is what makes us Quakers. It is really and basically all we have. It can lead us into good works in, and compassion for our wider community. Our best work is done when we say with the child Samuel '' Speak Lord, for your servant is listening'' ( 1 Samuel 3 v 10 ).
Yours in Peace
Sadie.
